The Holy Spirit is a wonderful gift that God has given us as believers. The word that is translated "Spirit" may also be translated "wind". The Holy Spirit:
•Quickens us to eternal life, John 6:63.
•Guides us into truth, John 16:13.
•Helps us when we are weak, Romans 8:26.
•Teaches unity and maturity, Ephesians 4.
•Gives instruction on what we are to say, Luke 12:12.
•Brings to memory Christ's words, John 14:26
•Gives dynamic power, I Corinthians 2:4-5 and John 14:12-14.
•Gives the desire to do things God's way, Philippians 2:3.
•Encourages and ministers to believers in many ways.
If we listen to Him, and allow Him to guide us, we will not be overtaken by our old nature, nor fulfill the desires that can lead us away from Him. But will build something that last forever and brings glory to The Father.
Galatians 6:8 states, "If they plant to satisfy their sinful selves, their sinful selves will bring them ruin. But if they plant to please the Spirit, they will receive eternal life from the Spirit." (NCV)
